Registration

Do I need a racing license?
To participate in Gravel Fondo Limburg it is mandatory to have an (inter)national licence. Please select and buy a day license in the registration process if you don't have one already.

If you are not a UCI Licensed rider you must have a day license, if you do not have a day license a week prior to the race, you cannot start in the race. You can purchase your day license when registering for the event. Please check race regulations and terms and conditions for details.

If you are a UCI Licensed rider you must fill out your UCI number during registration.
What's the registration deadline for Gravel Fondo Limburg?
There is no closing date regarding registration. But don't wait too long, we might run out of tickets. As soon as we are sold out we will close the registration, that may be well before the event will take place.
Can I cancel my registration?
If you registered for Gravel Fondo Limburg and you decide not to participate, for whatever reason, total or partial reimbursement of the registration fee is not possible.
I have not received confirmation of the registration by email. Now what?
All participants will receive a confirmation of the registration by email. Make sure you enter your correct email address. Check your spambox, maybe it ended up in there. Still no confirmation mail? Contact us info@gravelfondolimburg.nl
I want to be in the first start box (with 25 riders). What do I need to do?
The first start box or pen will consist of 25 riders (women and men) and will be selected by the race director. If you want to be eligible for this starting pen, please state that during your registration for the event. The race director will make the final choice of who will be in the first starting wave, based on ranking. There also will be wild cards available. If you are not a Pro or Elite rider your chances of being selected for the first 25 are extremely slim. The decision of the race director is unrecallable and undisputable. The rest of the riders will be postioned after the first 25 wave, how this will be organized is depending on the number of participants and will be communicated well in advance prior to the race.
What bike to register and particpate?
Riders may use any type of bike (road bike, mountain bike, city bike, hybrid bike, cross bike, etc.) with the exception of tandem or recumbent bikes. Time trial road bikes are also forbidden. During the UCI Gravel World Championships, all bikes should have dropped handlebars.  It’s not possible to participate in the UCI Gravel World Championships with a mountain bike.
Is the start order based on order of registration?
Yes, after the Preferred Start Box the start numbers will be based allocated bases on order of registration. This means that the sooner you will register, the better your start posiiton will be. Age category has no influence on start order since there will be a mass start. So it's first come, first serve.

Qualification for UCI World Championships

How can I qualify for the UCI World Championship in Veneto Italy (October 2023)?
Depending on your age group choose your distance. Men 19-59 and Women 19-49 will ride 113 km as the qualifying distance. Men 60+ and Women 50+ will ride 79 km distance. The top 25% of their age group will qualify for the UCI World Championship in their age group. Every rider will automatically participate in the overall ranking (women or men) per distance. But this is not the offical qualifyting category.

Age Groups applicable to the Trek UCI Gravel World Series are defined by the rider’s age on December 31st of the year of the qualifier event.

The 25% qualifiers is calculated based on the number of starters in each age group, and not on the number of riders having finished the race. Qualification is always per age group and based on age group results, not on overall results. Top 3 riders in every age category are automatically qualified. Riders must finish the race to gain qualification.
I am younger than 19, can I qualify?
As the minimum age to participate in the UCI Gravel World Championships is 19 years old, only riders born before 31 December 2004 can qualify for the 2022 UCI Gravel World Championships. For events organized in the same year and immediately following the  World Championships (October-December), riders aged 18 at the moment of qualification may already qualify as they will turn 19 in the year of the 2022 World Championships.
In which age group do I need to start?
Age Groups applicable to the Trek UCI Gravel World Series are defined by the rider’s age on December 31st of the year of the qualifier event.
